One-Day Small Business Seminar Organized by Confederation of Greater Toronto Chinese Business Association The Confederation of the Greater Toronto Chinese Business Association is organizing a one-day Small Business Seminar on Wednesday, May 25 which is designed to support individuals interested in starting a business and some existing business owners enhance their knowledge. The seminar will be mainly conducted in English and Mandarin. Statistics and reports shows that due to language and cultural barriers, lack of employment credential, more and more immigrants bring in Canada with a sizable savings and would like to be their own bosses and start a small business. Immigrant from China is a group people coming from one of the fastest growing countries in the world. They have very strong network with their home country and have potential to generate many business activities once they started their businesses in Canada. As a diverse immigrant country, new immigrants are the driving force behind small business and local economies in Canada. The One-day Business Conference aims to assist new immigrants to remove those barriers and become contributively members to the local economy. CGTCBA is fostering the entrepreneurial spirit that new Canadians bring to the economic health of our communities. This conference will create a unique opportunity for people who are interested to start a business, or some existing business owners to enhance their knowledge with the participating speakers, businesses and stakeholders. The exhibitors and expertise in the conference will provide resources to help potential business owners get the skills they need to develop sound business plans and achieve their goals. After the conference, we expect more of business ventures to come forward. After the One-day Business Conference, the organizer will continue an 8-week post conference program to assist the 150 participants to access and refer to the information and services they require in starting their businesses.
