A Cautionary Tale of Inadvertent Product Infringement


The Toronto Chinese Business Association (TCBA) was recently approached by a retailer for support after becoming involved in a legal action for inadvertently infringing on a garment product – a phenomenon not uncommon for small independent retail businesses.

In light of this, the TCBA will organize a seminar with legal experts sharing information on issues such as product infringement, the sale of counterfeit products and financial implications of being sued for product infringement.

多倫多華商會日前收到一名零售業商人求助，有關其銷售的成衣貨品被控告侵犯商標並須繳付法律費用。 就此例子在加拿大零售業出現日趨嚴重，多倫多華商會邀請該會法律顧問麥劉慧華律師及專門處理侵犯商標案件的資深律師 Lorne Lipkus , 將於本星期四4月14日上午11時於士嘉堡富都名宴，講解此類案件的原由，並呼籲商人提高警覺，避免蒙受金錢上的嚴重損失。 歡迎會員及非會員參與。
